1. Organize downtown parking. 2. Remove street clutter. 3. Provide for handicap access per ADA Standards. 4. Provide areas for trees. 5. Repair sidewalks and curbing. 6. Organize and consolidate signage. 7. Revitalize Heritage and Central Parks. 8. Screen/buffer residential from commercial areas. 9. Revitalize historic trail depot. 10. Clean up alleys. 11. Incorporate design elements from Artesia's history. |

| Results
1. Promote and enhance the streetscape image of Artesia. 2. Make Artesia greener while still utilizing moderate to low water use plantings. 3. Decrease storm water run-off problems. 4. Safer interaction between traffic, parking, and pedestrians. 5. Infill vacant lots and revitalize vacant buildings. 6. Promote more business downtown. 7. Increase pedestrian safety and provided enjoyable walking areas linking downtown activities (ie. city offices, Heritage Park, Historic Museum, train depot). |
