Most books are checked out for four (4) weeks. No limit on the total number of books checked out per person at one time with these exceptions:
No more than four (4) items on one subject at one time.
No more than four (4) items by the same author at one time.
McNaughton subscription books (best-sellers) for two (2) weeks.
Encyclopedias for two (2) weeks a limit of four (4) per person/family.
Books on tape, language tapes and other cassette tapes are checked out for four (4)
weeks a limit of three (3) titles per person/family.
Video tapes are checked out for one (1) week a limit of three (3) per person/family.
Vertical File materials and maps are checked out for (2) weeks.
Audio-Visual equipment
is checked out overnight or on an as-needed basis up to one (1) week.
Patrons may renew
materials by phone or in person subject to prior requests of
other patrons for the materials and on extenuating circumstances.

Children's materials are subject to the general policy outlined above with these additional provisions:
Puzzles and puppets are checked out for four (4) weeks with a limit of three (3) per person and six (6) per family.
Book/cassette sets are checked out for four (4) weeks with a limit of three (3) per person and six (6) per family.
During the Summer Reading Program the check out limit on
children's books is twelve (12) per person for
four (4) weeks.
Ten cents ($.10) per item per day on overdue materials excluding days the Library is closed.
Twenty-five cents ($.25) per item per day for interlibrary loans excluding days the Library is closed.
Twenty-five cents ($.25) per item to replace missing/damaged date due card, book pocket or lost/stolen/washed library card if the library card is not expired.
One dollar ($1.00) to replace lost plastic bag that accompanied a puppet, cassette, video, etc..
Eight dollars fifty cents ($8.50) to replace lost cloth bag used for puzzles.
Variable charges for damages such as writing, drawing or scribbling in a book, torn or otherwise damaged materials are determined by the Librarian based on condition.
The charge is based on the replacement cost of the item plus the required Gross Receipts Tax.
Do not loan your card
to anyone else. Report lost or stolen cards to the library
immediately. You are responsible
for materials checked out on your library card.
When a person incurs
an outstanding fine or replacement cost of one dollar ($1.00) or more.
This publication is available upon request on cassette tape, computer diskette, or in large print, in Spanish and English.
