There is a Title V part-time position
available for the job of: Senior Center Van Driver
PAY SCALE: $5.15/ hr
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must
possess all of the skills and abilities listed under this section on the job
description to be considered for this position.
§
Must
be 55 years of age or older and meet income guidelines according to State
Regulations.
§
Experienced
driver with current chauffeurs drivers license.
§
Defensive
driving course and first aid class preferred.
§
Bilingual
preferred.
This position is funded through Title V funds provided by
the State of

Driving
the senior citizens van.
§
Assist
answering the telephone when needed.
§
Fill
in to help clean the center when custodian is absent.
§
Assists
with center activities.
§
Plan
routes to accommodate several passengers to conserve gas.
§
Must
maintain van at all times – monitoring oil, gas, battery, tires, keeping
the van clean, etc.
§
Other
tasks and duties in related work not outlined here, but may be required, as
designated by the supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE,
ABILITIES, SKILLS and OTHER CHARACTERISTICS: Possessing some or all of the skills and abilities
listed in this section will make a candidate more competitive.

Operate
a 16 passenger van
§
Basic
auto maintenance.
§
Must
be responsible and sensitive to the needs and physical well being of all the
passengers at all times.

Work
well with older people.
§
Ability
to pass first aid, CPR and defensive driving courses.
