Text Box: GURLS Event Report

Wow!!!  We had a grand total of 71 girls at our GURLS all-night science lock-in. The donations were outstanding, including a $250 contribution from the ELKS and 10 free pizzas from Pizza Inn. The girls had a great time making perfume, creating a marble roller coaster, tie-dying t-shirts (scientifically), building rockets, as well as doing several other activities. Debbie Haggerton out did herself. We had great breakfast (thanks to Rick and Lezlie Gravens and Roxanne and Leo Lara), and then we had a perfect morning for our exciting rocket launch .  Thank you so much to all of you who donated food and money. A great big thank you to everyone who came and helped out. I would call the event a huge success. AAUW members know how to come through!!! Hope you saw the feature article in the Current-Argus.
